3 Titles That Need to Return to WWE

With the roster WWE has now, they should revisit the idea of having combined titles. With the tag titles being unified and the WWE title being unified with the universal title, we are seeing talent being lost in the crowd. If we were to bring back 3 titles, we will see more superstars having something to go for.

The Light Heavyweight Championship

• Last person to hold the title: X-Pac.
• Last time the title was used: March 8,2002.
• Way to reintroduce it: Tournament.

The light Heavyweight Championship would be a great title to bring back for the likes of Ali, Ricochet, Cedric Alexander, etc. You can set the stage by having Ali come out and cut a promo about wanting to bring the prestige of 205 Live back. With him wanting to bring this prestige back, he doesn’t mean bringing back the NXT Cruiserweight title, then he reaches into a bag he brought with him to reveal the Light Heavyweight title. This prompts Cedric Alexander to come out on Raw to show interest, followed by Dominic Mysterio, Humberto Carrillo, and Roderick Strong. Seeing the amount of people showing interest in this title prompts Adam Pearce to come out and announce a tournament to take place where the winner will be crowned champion at Extreme Rules on October 8th.

The following episode of Smackdown will allow us to see the next batch of superstars to enter the tournament could be Drew Gulak, Ricochet, Angel Garza, Man.sôör, and Sami Zayn.

The Television Title

• Last person to hold the title: Hacksaw Jim Duggan
• Last time it was used: April 10, 2000
• Way to reintroduce it: Championship Scramble

The TV title can give us the kind of feel the 24/7 title does, but in a less comedic fashion. First step would be to have Stephanie come out talking about shaking the championship picture up. The best way she can see doing this is by adding another title into the frey. She brings up how the TV title is coming back and the championship is expected to be defended every week. To kick off the return, we have a championship scramble match where 8 superstars battle in the ring for 15 minutes and whoever has the last pin or submission at the end of the match is the new champion.

The 8 superstars to lock this off should be Ridge Holland, Xavier Woods, Madcap Moss, Jinder Mahal, Akira Tozawa, Ciampa, Chad Gable, and Robert Roode.

The World Heavyweight Championship

• Last person to hold the title: Randy Orton
• Last time it was used: December 15, 2013
• Way to bring it back: Battle Royal match at Crown Jewel November 5th.

To pull this move off the easiest, you would have to combine the WWE and Universal title. With Roman Reigns holding both titles right now, this would be the best time to do it. The two tiles just become the WWE Championship and 2 weeks before Crown Jewel, there is an announcement about bringing back the heavyweight championship. 30 men enter the Battle Royal as normal, this time instead of getting the Andre the Giant trophy at the end, they get the resurfaced championship. This will also give more time for the likes of AJ Styles, Cody Rhodes when he returns, Dolph Ziggler, Kofi Kingston, and Finn Balor.
